Them! (1954)
Nuclear testing in the desert ends up creating a giant race of killer ants (of course). When an aging expert and his sexy daughter are called in to investigate the murderous arthropods, all hell breaks loose. And by hell, of course I mean "giant killer ants." Can the military kill them all before they get into that sugar you spilled on the porch?

The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951)
The alien Klaatu visits the people of Wash. DC, so as to make a plea of galactic peace to all of Earth, since Earth is about to develop faster-than-light travel. However, he finds that the people of Earth are stuck in fear, paranoia, and hatred for their own kind. In the end, Klaatu (with his robot, Gort) give a choice: If Earth does not mend its ways, then the planet will be destroyed.

Quatermass and the Pit (1967)
While digging a new subway tunnel in London, workers unearth a series of strangely-shaped skeletons. Upon closer examination, they appear to be an ape-like ancestor of man dating back some 5 millions years ago. Soon the military is called in when a space craft is uncovered, revealing a strange insect race. But don't fear-- military advisor Dr. Quatermass has a few theories...

It! The Terror from Beyond Space (1958)
In the year 1973, a Martian stows away on a rescue rocket back to Earth after the rescue personnel retrieved the sole survivor of a failed mission on Mars. While most of the astronauts are busy suspecting that survivor, Carruthers of murdering his former shipmates, the Martian begins killing everyone. The crew eventually becomes aware of the beast, and attempt to kill it with grenades, bazookas, gas, and handguns, before deciding to simply evacuate all the air from the ship.

20 Million Miles to Earth (1957)
By the 1950's, man has finally broken free of the surly bonds of Earth. After sending a secret team to Venus and capturing an unborn animal native, the ship crashes off the coast of Sicily. The alien animal escapes and begins wreaking havoc all over Italy. Colonel Calder (the only survivor) along with a sexy "almost doctor" (aka, not a doctor), must find the life form before it escapes, or before the military kills it. Whichever comes first.
